SLR Investment Corp. (“SLR Investment”, "SLRC", or the "Company") is a closed-end, externally managed investment company that has elected to be treated as a business development company under the Investment Company Act of 1940 and intends to be taxed as a regulated investment company under Subchapter M of the Internal Revenue Code.
SLR Investment provides investors access to an illiquid private credit asset class through a yield-oriented, publicly-traded common stock (NASDAQ: SLRC). The Company has a pass-through structure that is designed to eliminate substantially all taxation at the investment company level. Income generated from directly-originated investments is paid out quarterly to shareholders. Investments are primarily focused on senior secured cash flow, asset-based and specialty finance solutions to middle market corporate borrowers primarily for working and growth capital requirements.
SLRC is externally managed by SLR Capital Partners, LLC (“SLR”), an independent investment advisor co-founded by Michael Gross and Bruce Spohler in 2006. SLR and its affiliates are supported by a team of approximately 300 employees including over 130 origination and investment professionals in over a dozen offices across the U.S. SLR uses its direct origination platform to source proprietary investment opportunities and applies a private equity approach to its comprehensive credit underwriting process, including in-depth due diligence and active structuring of investment terms.
